“Happiness can be found in the darkest of times, if only one remembers to turn on the light.” – Albus Dumbledore (J.K. Rowling)

Therapeutic Approach:
We may not be able to control the circumstances or challenges life throws at us, but with courage and support we can keep moving forward and find joy in the journey. I prefer to use a strength-based approach because the goal in therapy is progress, not perfection. It is important to establish rapport with each other, because the security in the therapeutic relationship is where healing occurs. I strongly believe that you are the expert of your own life. For this reason, I prefer collaborative treatment planning, which allows individuals to feel heard and to find coping strategies and skills that fit into their lifestyle. Instead of prescribing cookie-cutter interventions, I understand that everyone is unique, and this is why I focus on a client-centered approach.

About me:
I was drawn to psychology in my freshman year of college because I felt it blends the scientific wonder of life with humanistic nurturing in order to help us understand who we really are. I graduated with my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary in June 2014 and
completed my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from The University of Arizona in May 2009. I have been practicing therapy for almost 5 years, first with my practicum at Hathaway Sycamores Child and Family Services School Based program, and more recently in an outpatient setting at Penny Lane Centers. I have worked with children, adolescents, individuals, family, and co-facilitated groups. I am experienced in Motivational Interviewing and certified in Managing and  Adapting Practices and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
