Welcome!
“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” -Viktor Frankl
About Me:
I obtained my master’s degree in counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Northridge in 2016 and my bachelor’s degree in psychology and social behavior with a minor in education in 2013. While obtaining my bachelor’s degree, I had internships at the campus counseling center and at the LGBT resource center. While obtaining my master’s degree, I completed an internship at an elementary and middle school where I provided individual, family, and group therapy to children/adolescents and their families. I have also gained experience providing therapeutic services at schools, group homes, foster/adoptive homes, and private practice.
Therapeutic Approach:
My therapeutic style is eclectic and client centered. I believe my clients are the experts of their own lives and my role is to assist them in evoking change in their lives. I also utilize solution focused techniques to assist my client’s in making achievable, short-term goals to improve their overall well-being. Additionally, I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) techniques to assist my clients in identifying negative thought patterns and changing the way they think and behave.
In my work with children and adolescents, I utilize play and art therapy techniques in addition to talk therapy in order to help my clients process their emotions in an age appropriate way.
