“Your story is a privilege for people to hear… share it with people you trust…
We rather not know love than to hurt and grieve… that’s a hard price to pay…” -Brené Brown
About: While getting my Master’s in Clinical Psychology I learned that it is essential for humans to socialize and connect with others for their well-being. Brené addresses this as she taps into balancing the following: respect your boundaries and your story and allow yourself to be vulnerable so you can connect with others.
This therapeutic relationship is a professional one and there is a sense of connection. My aim is to provide a safe space where you can tell your story and feel heard, which will enable us to keep working as a team and help reach your goals.
Additionally, I obtained my Master’s in Clinical Psychology with both a Somatic and Healthy Aging Concentration. I have worked with individuals and families of all ages for four and a half years dealing with: grief, social services, trauma, relationship/attachment difficulties, depression, anxiety, and behavioral issues to name a few.
Therapeutic Approaches:
Somatic Psychotherapy/Mindfulness: increases awareness in the present moment that can lead to growth/change
Assertive Communication: teaches how to communicate healthy with others
Solution-Focused: focuses on what’s going well and has a positive outlook for the future
CBT: challenges thoughts that can lead to changes in emotions/behavior
Psychodynamic/Gestalt: focuses on healthy socialization and healing possible past and current relationship wounds
