Contact Kelly
Hello! My name is Kelly Markley, and I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges with empathy, understanding, and evidence-based therapeutic approaches. I work with clients of all ages, focusing particularly on children, adolescents, and adults navigating transitions, anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and life stressors.

Education and Training:

I completed my undergraduate studies at California State University, Northridge (CSUN), where I earned a degree in Child and Adolescent Development. I then pursued a Master’s in Social Work at Edinboro University, focusing on psychology and gaining valuable clinical training in therapy. My academic journey has equipped me with a strong foundation in mental health, which I continue to build upon through ongoing professional development.

Therapeutic Approach:

My approach to therapy is rooted in compassion and empathy, as I firmly believe that every individual deserves to be heard and understood. I integrate various evidence-based therapeutic modalities to tailor each session to the unique needs of my clients. Some of the techniques I use include:
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): To help identify and challenge negative thought patterns, promoting healthier thinking and behavior.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): A skills-based approach focused on emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Encouraging acceptance of difficult emotions while helping clients commit to actions aligned with their values.
  • Solution-Focused Therapy: To foster practical solutions and forward momentum in addressing challenges.
  • Strengths-Based Therapy: Helping clients recognize and build upon their existing strengths to overcome obstacles.
  • Holistic Approaches: Considering the whole person when addressing mental health and well-being.
I believe that everyone has the capacity for growth and healing. My role is to provide a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their concerns and work collaboratively to develop skills, insights, and coping strategies.
