About I’ve been a marriage and family therapist for the past 3 years. I received my Master of Arts in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Brandman University. I enjoy working with people to help them overcome their difficulties and become better equip to handle hardships in the future. Before I became an MFT, I worked as a behavioral therapist for families and children with autism. I have been trained to work with children in child-led play therapy as well. In my other previous employments, I have experience working with children with behavioral issues of all ages, foster care youth, individuals suffering from past traumas, adults seeking employment, and victims of domestic violence.
Therapeutic Approach I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which addresses errors in thinking in order to alter negative emotions and behaviors. I have been trained in Trauma Focused CBT in order to help individuals process traumas that may be interfering with their ability to function in their daily lives. Another orientation I use often is Mindfulness, which is the practice of being present in the moment to gain self-awareness and promote acceptance of one’s current emotions and state. Also, I have been trained in Motivational Interviewing and Managing and Adapting Practices.
Services I provide individual, couples, and family therapy to adolescent, adults, and their families. Some examples include but are not limited to: -Depression -Anxiety -Trauma -PTSD -Substance Use -Anger -Self-Harm -Behavioral Issues -School Issues -Poor Communication -Unemployment -Other mental health needs
