Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in
--Leonard Cohen from “Anthem”
About me:
Becoming a therapist is a mid-life career change, one that I have chosen due to life experiences that have allowed me a unique view to be truly empathetic to a variety of challenging situations. I look forward to walking beside you on your journey.
Therapeutic approach:
As the strength of the therapeutic relationship is the most important aspect for change, my goal is to create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment where you feel heard and understood. Person-centered theory is the foundation for all I do, but I often use interventions from Solution-Focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness, among others.
Areas of Focus:
Depression
Anxiety
Long term caregiving
Transitions/life changes
Stress reduction/coping skills
Parenting issues
Social skills
Insurance:
Kaiser Permanente
