About:
I graduated from Phillips Graduate University with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and have been working with clients since 2015. My traineeship and first year internship were completed in elementary schools and I worked for the William S. Hart Union High School District with junior high and high school students and their families for three years. I have been seeing clients in private practice since 2019. It is a privilege to work with people during challenging times and to support them while they discover their strengths. I am passionate about helping people to develop coping strategies that result in increased self-esteem, a positive sense of self, and a greater mastery of life’s challenges.
Therapeutic approach:
It is my belief that each client is unique and is the expert in his or her life. I work with children, adolescents, individuals, adults, couples, and families utilizing an integrative style of therapy. My therapeutic approach is client-centered, and can be described as Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused with a Rogerian unconditional positive regard for the client and what brings the client to the therapy process. I assist clients in discovering their innate strengths and learning coping strategies they can apply to their school, social, and family systems and work collaboratively with clients to create achievable goals. A variety of interventions will be utilized that are designed to encourage clients to feel comfortable in understanding themselves and expressing themselves effectively, including art, bibliotherapy, journaling, play therapy, and mindfulness.
