BIO:
I am a US Navy veteran and a strength-based clinician specializing in trauma, mood disorders, and addiction. I take great care to meet clients exactly where they are in life, and take even greater care to assist clients in uncovering the life they want over the life that they currently have.
I operate from a Cognitive Behavioral and psychodynamic approach, as I firmly believe that to truly understand the present, we must understand the past. It is the past that has shaped the distorted beliefs and the resultant maladaptive behaviors that are negatively impacting the present. Once we come to realize that past traumas are carried with us throughout life, we can process those traumas in the present and change our behaviors to ones that serve us in a positive way.
I bring to my clients the concepts of Peace, Strength, Courage, and Hope. Peace is essential for a better life. Strength is what we need to realize that change is not easy, but necessary. Courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to move forward in spite of it. Hope is all it takes for us to face any and all challenges, knowing that they can be overcome; bringing us full-circle back to Peace.
SPECIALITIES:
Substance Abuse/Addiction
Trauma and Abuse
Anxiety
Depression
Anger Management
Grief/Loss
Interpersonal Dynamics/Conflict Resolution
Self Esteem
Life Stressors
Guilt and Shame
